HISTORY

Founded by Michael Maslan in 1959, Maslan, Maslan, Rothwell, P. A. is an institution on the east side of Baltimore and in the Dundalk area. Michael Maslan was a vibrant personality and tenacious lawyer who had deep feeling for the individuals he represented. The firm continues to strive to meet his exacting standards. 

From cumberland to baltimore

Michael Maslan came to Baltimore from Cumberland, Maryland searching for a better life. The son of merchants, Mr. Maslan came to Baltimore to begin his education. Finding a place on the east side of the city, Mr. Maslan became a dean of east side lawyers. Representing clients in a number of matters, Mr. Maslan demonstrated unwavering empathy for his clients and depth of legal skill and knowledge. He won numerous cases in Maryland appellate courts in criminal and civil matters. He established the foundation for success that he would pass on to his son.

After Michael Maslan had established a thriving practice, it was time to expand. Gary Maslan joined the firm to help his father with the practice and in 1983 Ralph Rothwell joined the firm to practice family and zoning law. Together this team of legal minds excelled at providing their clients with the representation that the clients needed in their times of trouble. The firm was a perfect blend of the skills of the partners and a perfect marriage of their personalities. It became even more of an east side institution.

Following the deaths of Michael Maslan in 1996 and Ralph Rothwell in 2008, Gary Maslan has continued to provide his clients with the empathetic and excellent service they need. Providing representation to businesses and individuals Gary strives to look out for the downtrodden and the underrepresented. He has assembled a team of attorneys and staff that continue the ethos established by Michael Maslan in 1959. They fight for those that need someone in their corner. They are people of integrity, incredible intelligence, and a persistence to do what it takes to get the results those they represent deserve.
